With more than 30 years of experience, MSEI is a leading specialist in the development and manufacture of electronic modules for active implants – including the design and test of application-specific ICs (ASICs). The very latest SMD assembly lines as well as a fully automatic test line are the foundation for the production of these complex modules.

MSEI's expertise in development is targeted towards medical technology, in particular for active implants in the area of CRM (cardiac rhythm management) and neurostimulation. Its extensive knowledge in electronics manufacturing, however, is available not only for applications in medical technology but also for other high-end markets.

MSEI's expertise in development and engineering encompasses:

• ASIC design and test: starting with designs in the areas of ultra low power, high voltage, mixed signal, digital/memory/RF and sensors, through foundry management, to extensive quality checks and reliability tests

• the development of complete electronic modules, from the layout of the printed circuit board, through the definition of the components and design verification, to the construction of production equipment and test rigs

MSEI's manufacturing capacity includes:

• fully automatic assembly using the smallest SMDs with high precision on a variety of base materials
• fully automatic test processes at an ambient temperature of 37 °C
• integration of all processes into a manufacturing execution system (MES)
• procurement of all components and materials
• manufacturing in Class 10,000 cleanrooms

MSEI has been ISO 9001 certified since 1993. The product development and manufacturing processes are ISO 13485 conformant and are part of a comprehensive quality assurance program that includes every stage throughout the value-added chain and that systematically optimizes every operating stage for reliability.

MSEI is headquartered in Lake Oswego, Oregon, roughly 10 miles south of Portland, along with development facilities in Denver, Colorado and Houston, Texas. The company employs a total of 290 people.
